This listing is for TWO PAIR of bookends — each pair is the same Dutch Couple boy and girl with the same original polychrome paint colors; one pair has darker patina than the other pair. Great mix and match possibilities on your bookshelf or display case; they would also make a wonderful anniversary or wedding gift — perhaps you have friends or family planning a Double Wedding!
Each pair made around 1925 by the Pompeian Bronze Company, vintage electroformed bronze-clad figural book ends (bronze over plaster); original polychrome paint (green, orange, white) in wonderful condition. Beautiful aged-bronze patina. The boy or young man has a traditional cap and a handkerchief around his neck; the girl or young woman a traditional Dutch bonnet. On the back, each is marked "Pompeian Bronze Co. 140".
